Support - Vinylcore

Vinylcore is a music player that lets you play songs like a record at the wrong speed. Below you'll find answers to common questions and how to contact us.

How do I use Vinylcore?

Tap the + button to add a song from your library, browse internet radio, podcasts, Jamendo or Archive.org, then tap an item to play. Use the "Fast", "Slow", and "Real" buttons to change playback speed.

What music sources can I use?

Vinylcore is designed to work with audio it is allowed to read directly. That includes:

  • Songs purchased from iTunes or synced to your device from a computer
  • Internet radio stations (HLS and ICY streams)
  • Podcasts via public RSS feeds
  • Jamendo — Creative Commons–licensed music
  • Archive.org public audio
  • Direct HTTP(S) audio URLs you paste in
Can I use Vinylcore with Apple Music, Spotify or YouTube?

No. These services are not supported and we are not able to add support for them in the future:

  • Apple Music and iCloud Music Library tracks are DRM-protected. The audio cannot be processed by the speed/pitch engine.
  • Spotify only allows third-party apps to remote-control the Spotify app — it does not provide raw audio that we could re-pitch.
  • YouTube / YouTube Music — extracting audio is against YouTube’s terms of service and Apple’s App Store rules.
  • Other closed services like Tidal, Deezer, and Amazon Music are not supported for the same reasons.

If a song you want to play is only in one of these libraries, Vinylcore will not be able to open it. Sorry — it’s a platform/licensing limitation, not a missing feature.

Why can't I see my music?

Vinylcore can only see songs you have purchased from iTunes or synced to your device from a computer. If your library shows nothing, your tracks are most likely streaming-only (Apple Music / iCloud Music Library), which the app is not able to access.

What’s included in the paid version?

Unlock the full experience:

  • Play full tracks (free version is limited to 15 seconds)
  • Unlimited playlist entries
  • Ad-free interface
I bought the old version — do I have to pay again?

Tap the gold record icon and choose "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID. If issues persist, contact us for assistance.

A radio station, podcast or stream won’t play

Some streams go offline, change URL, or are geo-restricted by the broadcaster. If a stream that used to work suddenly stops, that’s usually the cause. Try a different station or check back later.

Vinylcore does not host any of the streaming content — we only point to publicly available sources.

A specific song, file or pasted URL won’t play

We do our best to support as many audio formats and encodings as possible, but we can’t guarantee that every single file or URL will work. Some audio uses unusual codecs, non-standard containers, or streaming protocols that the device’s audio engine doesn’t support — and pasted URLs sometimes redirect, require authentication, or serve something other than a plain audio stream.

If a file won’t open, try a different format (MP3, AAC/M4A and WAV are the most reliable) or a different source. If you think something should work and doesn’t, please let us know — examples help us improve compatibility over time.
